On this site you will find all those beloved recipes of our Grandmother, Mother & Wife Shirley Davis. We all know that she at some point has cooked something we truly would love to have that recipe so we can take our chances at cooking it just to find out we still didn't get it right after the third time! So, I will be compiling all of her most commonly tried and true recipes and posting them in the navigation to the left. Recipe Search Tips
- If you have ever been to this site prior to 11/10/2024, you might notice some major changes have been made to the search engine feature. Previously and before 11/10/2024, the search engine on this site did little more than search for a specific recipe in the database. Today, that changes quite dramatically. For the first time in the site's history, you can now use wildcards to see more broader or narrower search results.
- For example, instead of having to put in a super narrow search term like "Vanilla Pound Cake", you can now search by category, subcategory, or a "list all wildcard" called "recipe" or "recipes". Both versions of this wildcard work exactly the same and will return the same results. Those results are: every recipe in the database.
- In my humble opinion, this is a huge step forward in modernizing the site to make locating a recipe much faster. If you still prefer the click through of the menu that won't change. It is and always will be just to the left of the screen.
