Half-Gallon Sweet Tea

Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 Luizianne Family Size Tea Bags
- 2 Quarts Water (Divided in Half)
Equipment:
- Half-Gallon Pitcher with Lid
- ICE (Preferably Bagged or Filtered Water Ice)
- Long Handle Wooden Spoon
- Measuring Cups
- 1 Quart Saucepan with Lid
- Refrigerator
- Stove
Pre-Preparation:
- Lay out all ingredients/equipment 15 minutes prior to cooking/baking.
Directions:
- In a 1 quart saucepan, add one quart of water. Do not cover with the lid YET.
- Place the saucepan on the stove to boil on high.
- Once your water has come to a full boil, add in your tea bags leaving the tabs outside the pan.
- Once you have added the tea bags, let them boil for about 10 seconds and then cover pot with lid and remove from heat.
- Steep for 15 minutes.
- When the 15 minutes is up, remove cover from saucepan.
- Remove teabags and allow to drain above the saucepan and discard tea bags.
- Pour tea into half-gallon pitcher.
- Measure out, level, and add in your sugar to your pitcher of hot tea.
- Using long handle wooden spoon, stir sugar until it has dissolved.
- Once sugar has dissolved in hot tea, then add your remaining one quart water and do a quick stir.
- Place pitcher on counter-top and cover with lid with some ventilation available for heat to escape.
- Pour tea over your ICE of choice. (For a better taste use bagged ICE.) & enjoy.
- Place pitcher in refrigerator and discard after 2-3 days.
